My cat Miuccia and I are both delighted that cats are so on-trend this season. Who can resist a cuddly kitten? The craze started when the cat print dominated Miu Miu's spring 2010 runway show, gracing shirts, pants, shoes, and bags.
Accessories fell influence to cat mania, taking the form of cat eye sunglasses. I have these Tom Ford cat eyes, but am obsessed with Taylor Tomasi Hill's tortoise Norma Kamali frames.
In makeup, the cat eye or winged eyeliner has made appearances on many a runway and fashion editorial. I am a big fan of the look, as it is glamorous and flattering on all eye shapes. MAC jumped on board the trend with their fall cat inspired makeup line called the Fabulous Felines Collection.

And lastly, the leopard print trend is off the charts this season (and will be next season, judging from the recent spring 2011 runway shows). For the bold, a leopard coat or dress is a must-have. For a more subtle approach, a leopard belt, hat, shoe, or bag can easily be integrated into any outfit. It is surprisingly versatile! Dare I say...leopard is the new black?

I have already given in to the feline fever. Resistance is futile! I have never been more happy to be a crazy cat lady.
i wish i could find a good leopard print dress... for few dollars.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, cheap leopard print tends to look...cheap.
